Grantee Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Formulation training consultancy
Background information: Unites States African Development Foundation (USADF) provides grants to African organizations and enterprises that increase economic opportunities among the underserved communities in Africa.

The grants provide people with the opportunity to engage in the development process and gain food security, economic, and social benefits.
USADF grants respond to applicants’ requests by actively engaging the local community group or enterprise in the design and implementation of the grant activities.
This ensures that outcomes will best address the real community needs. USADF measures grant success in terms of jobs, increased production and income levels and improved social conditions.
CEZAM and Associates Ltd., an accounting and business development consultancy firm, is the local partner for USADF in Kenya, responsible with providing direct technical assistance and support to grassroots groups who are recipients of USADF grants.
The partnership ensures that grantees have access to the support services they need to successfully plan and implement their development activities at the grassroots level.
Wamunyu Self-help Group has received funding  from  the  United  States  African  Development  Foundation  (USADF)  towards  its  slaughter house business.
USADF is an independent Agency of the US government that operates at local levels in Africa in support of economic development.
Wamunyu SHG, under grant by USADF and supervision by Cezam and Associates now requests sealed proposals from eligible and qualified consultancy firms or individuals to train 30 members of grantee groups’ members on

Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Formulation.
Key areas of the training package shall comprise of the following:
  1. Introduction to Entrepreneurship to local institution such as WSHGSHP;
  2. Importance of Entrepreneurial Traits in Business Development;
  3. Roles of Entrepreneur to Economic Development;
  4. Idea’s generation and Opportunity Idedification as an Entrepreneur local institution such as WSHGSHP;
  5. Creativity and Innovation of an Entrepreneur;
  6. Risk Management in Business;
  7. Principles of good Entrepreneur institutionalized in local institutions such as WSHGSHP and farmer Cooperatives;
  8. Entrepreneur dynamics and Marketing Strategies;
  9. Networking and acquisition of knowledge and skills related to marketing of Meat Products, Hide & Skin, Horns, Wolves and Organic Manure and other Slaughter Products;
  10. Training in Business Proposal Writing; and
  11. Help Wamunyu SHG to generate a workable business plan its operations.
The training should be delivered in English.  Ability to provide additional translations or explanations in Local Language is preferred.
Deliverables shall be delivered by the consultant to the grantee – Wamunyu SHG and CEZAM & Associates Ltd (ADF Partner in Kenya).
These products shall be submitted in copies as follows:
The consultant should be a specialist in business administration especially in Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Formulation, strategic planning, Marketing and/or Proposal Writing in enterprise sector with the following qualifications:
  • Minimum degree in Business, Business Administration, strategic planning ,Marketing and or business studies;
  • Experience in leading or participating in Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Formulation for donor-funded projects, preferably of enterprise interventions in the food security sector;
  • Excellent teaching and coaching skills, experience in knowledge management and learning in business/non-governmental organizations or similar;
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills;
Submitting expression of interest
Wamunyu SHG invites bids from individual consultants or firms with the experience and skills described above.
Bids should include:
  • A technical offer that includes the basic methodology which will be used and related areas of focus (or topics) in the training as well as the proposed timeframe/time table;
  • A financial offer that covers all consultancy related;
  • A CV detailing relevant skills and experience of not more than 3 pages, including contactable referees; and
  • Certificate of registration in the case of a registered entity;
  • KRA PIN;
  • One sample of a relevant Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Formulation Report;
  • Payments will be made in three tranches of 40% as mobilization, 40% upon the receiving of draft training reports and draft Business Plan, and 20% upon the review of the Business plan by both Wamunyu SHG, Cezam and USADF.
